We’ve really enjoyed Cambodia.  As is common with this type of traveling we’ve met some amazing people.  We’ve gained huge insight into a culture we knew very little about.  We’ve learned about a horrifying recent historical event that we were embarrassingly ignorant of.  Overall, we’ve loved most of our month long visit BUT being scammed at the border sucks!  Excuse the language but really, finding a gentler substitute just doesn’t quite cover the feelings. Like all good scams, we had no idea we had even been duped.  It…

So it perhaps wasn’t my best parenting decision. As a matter a fact, in terms of safety it’s perhaps a major fail. It’s not the decision I’m most proud of over the past year, truly it’s not something that could have even occurred in any country with a definitive legal system but in a developing country it was screaming to happen – and happen it did. It’s been a significant amount of time since any of us have written.  I’m not sure if we went on a mental break, are too busy racing from place to place or, most likely, have spent the past month and a half catching up with family and friends that we just kind of got out of our groove.  We’ll go back eventually and give updates as we’ve seen some truly amazing things, but for now, this post will just serve as a brief catch up! Chiang Mai continued…

Take my word for it.  Go to Slovenia!  Really.  There’s a high likelihood, if you are from the United States you’ve never heard of this pint sized treasure.  Realistically, many of you will never venture to this unbelievable land but I’m telling you people, you’re missing out.  Those of you from Europe are close and may have never considered it a vacation destination.  You heard it here first…it is! Slovenia is a small, gorgeous country that shares borders with Italy, Croatia, Austria & Hungary.  It’s a country that…

Yesterday a friend so kindly reminded me that today, May 25, marks our one month countdown.  Our countdown to our around the world travels.  Our countdown to 13 months of adventures, trials and tribulations in our life on the road.  Our countdown to the beginning of homeschooling, or what we now speak of as world schooling or mommy schooling.  Our countdown to what promises to be an adventure and what will become our new normal – at least for a year. I work best under a deadline – procrastination can only continue…
